| Description/Abstract: | In the words of the artist, the following describes the techniques used to make the work. "Line is made from stitched layers of dyed cloth subsequently bleached, burnt and chemically printed." The ideas behind the work as described by the artist. "A visit to the new Fashion and Lace museum in Calais and remembering the darkness, lighting and patterned shadows across the wooden floors projected from the beautfiul strips of historic lace started my thinking for this 'timeline'. It is a broken line of regularly defined repeated lengths, loosley referencing different periods of time, emotion and life." |
